The dumbbell shoulder press is a free weight exercise targeting your shoulders. The muscle stabilizers involved include your triceps and forearms, as well as the rest of your core. This exercise improves your overall strength and conditioning by challenging your stability and balance. The dumbbell shoulder press is higher in intensity than the machine shoulder press because it requires more strength and stability to guide the press motion.
