Stop Praying for BIGGER BICEPS...
...build them with Preacher Curls
The preacher biceps curl is an exercise targeting your biceps. The muscle stabilizers involved include your shoulders and forearms, as well as the rest of your core. This exercise is very effective in reducing overcompensation from other muscles and joints. The preacher pad acts as a stabilizer causing your elbows to become the lever. Compared to dumbbell biceps curls, your biceps muscle must work harder to pull the weight up to your peak contraction. The preacher pad also relieves more joint pressure than single-motion free weights, especially in your wrists.
-
Start by adjusting the seat to make sure you’re in a comfortable position, not too high or too low. The best method to determine your seat position is to make sure you have some space between your arm pits and the preacher pad. Next. squeeze your abs to assist the lower back’s neutral position. With a light grip, lower your v-bar to a slightly bent-elbow position to maintain tension in your biceps.
-
Contract the biceps to pull the v-bar up to your peak contraction in a smooth and controlled motion. Repeat.
