A New Style...
...for a New Season Fall is a great time to get rid of split ends and sun-damaged hair. According to Crystal Welch, hair expert at 22 Changes, here are a few examples of what is hot this fall:Short Hair:
(above the shoulder)
Asymmetrical bobs are popular this season for short lengths. Prime examples are Victoria Beckam and Rihanna for this great look. You will see stronger and bolder geometric shapes, with short and jagged bangs.
Medium Hair:
(shoulder length)
For shoulder lengths, you will see more blunt perimeters with soft edges framing the face. Shorter or side-swept bangs can be a sexy addition to this length. Flipped edges or soft waves will compliment this great look. Reese Witherspoon and Kirsten Dunst wear these styles to perfection.
Long Hair: ( past the shoulders)
Mid-length layers created over solid perimeters are created to give a more flowing and versatile style. Lots of iron curl will give a softer flowing and gentler feel to the hair. Women are definitely more feminine this season and long hair helps you play into that role – think Jessica Rabbit and Audrey Hepburn.
Updating Your Color for Fall
Golden blondes, deep cherry-chocolate browns and sassy, vibrant res are just a few examples of what you will see this season.
Regina Davidson, hairstylist of 22 Changes in Vancouver, Washington, takes a look at the future:
Red heads are absolutely fiery this season. No need for highlights or lowlights to have great looking red hair. A shiny, deep red is all you need to look fabulous.
Summer blondes can get your hair ready for fall by richening the color. Adding lowlights or a gloss – a translucent color, giving a multi-colored look and keeping the shine – will tone down the color, making your hair fabulous.
Brunettes look great with highlights and lowlights. Placing three or four different shades of brown around the face and throughout the hair can add the perfect balance, turning dull brunette hair into dazzling dark hair.
Trends will come and go, but true fashion innovation lies in contemporary color combinations and performance technology. All of us have seen the swarm of bright yellow jackets with silver reflective tape as we cross over the Hawthorne Bridge during rush hour. Melanie Risner, fashion correspondent, states, "Now we are seeing the bright yellow colors for the fall. Pick an accessory in yellow (try a yellow with some green in it) or distressed matte silver is the perfect way to set off your personal look.
Keep in mind that yellow can look harsh against some skin tones, so try a yellow handbag or yellow flats – something away from the face.
